There are different applications of GPS and one thing that is mainly used for is for helping us out find our way while driving either in-town or when we go out of town to a different city or state.

GPS for cars have come a long way in technology. We used to think that this global positioning system are only for the rich and few that can afford high end cars. It started that way and it took a while before the masses realize its useful purpose. People think of GPS as an extra accessory that is not really needed. They also thought that it is subscription based and you have to pay a monthly or yearly fee for the service.

Times have changed and the introduction of portable models that can be used in different cars paved the way of people accepting that GPS for cars is not an accessory but a tool and can prevent drivers from being lost while on the road and overall has saved us a lot of driving time.

These units can be as small as a deck of cards and prices start out from $100 and more. With this little package come the power dreamt by every man..."I don't have to ask for directions anymore".

There a several ways the GPS systems for cars are set up. They can be built in as an OEM accessory. They can also be an upgrade after market accessory for your car stereo and they can also be small, lightweight and portable that you can easily plug in on different cars.
